can you pm me what you have used exactly?

I have orderd a after market case, because my original case was WAY to yellow, and a after market case cost only 9 dollar (including buttons, silicone pads etc!!!!)
Hi Pieter,

I'll post it here because other users may want this info as well.

You can follow the original Retr0brite recipes but what I used is the widely available hydrogen peroxide cream. This cream is used by barbers to color hair. I bought "Scarlett Waterstofperoxide 40vol", this cream is based on 12% hydrogen peroxide. In Holland you can buy it at Kapperskorting.com: https://www.kapperskorting.com/scarlett ... 000ml.html.

For the coloring process just apply the cream on you GB and place it for several hours in the sun. You may have to repeat this several times. I did my GB two times for about 8 hours. Just use water to remove the cream.

Ahhhh PERFECT :D

a cheap way!!!
Calculated the costs of retrobright, and it was cheaper to buy a new (after market) case...

but this is not that expensive! So ill use that to get the case i have back to it's original glory, and use that case to build the gift-gbz for my little brother :D

So yesterday I've trashed my screen... :o

I soldered the wire for the 5v mod and while testing the screens backlight was flashing... So I decided to remove the IC but still the same problem. While trying to solve this problem I've created a short on the board... The flashing problem is nu fixed, the screen doesn't flash but also doesn't show any image :?

I consider this screen lost and ordered a new (other) one. This time the BW screen @BadBert is using for his build. I've chosen this one because the fast shipping (ETA is next week) and the possibility that I get a screen which is working on 5v without any mods (fingers crossed).

Sorry to hear that @rob. Hope you get a better screen this time that needs no modding.

Today my new screen arrived. I guess it's the same as the one @BadBert and @chiz has. @chiz mentioned that this screen is able to run on 5v without any modification. But when I supply 5v to the screen it's blinking. On 12v its working without any problem. The power supply I'm using is an original iPhone charger, haven't tested with the powerboost.

This is the screen;

@BadBert - Have you tested your screen and is it working on 5v?

@chiz - Is this the same screen you are using on 5v?

That's the same screen I'm using and I did no mods to run on 5v.

Yup. Same driver board @rob.

I suggest trying a higher rated charger like a 2.5A or the PowerBoost 1000C itself. You should not get any flickering if your power supply is enough.

I think this board is starting to get re-supplied lately. More and more folks around the forums are getting the same board.

Thanks for the tip. I'll test it tonight directly connected to the PowerBoost.
