Finally Working On My GB Zero Build

Hello,

First off would like to thank the amazing videos and build logs on here has helped loads.

So my wife bought me back in 2015 the raspberry pi zero and I've been trying to get the funds together to build a Gameboy Zero, as I love playing games from the 90's.

As I now have had some funds to work towards this project, I would like to show my build log (which is a WIP).

1. The Power

For the power I've recycled a laptop battery which utilises 18650 batteries at 2.6Ah each. So 1 of these and the TP4056 Chip to charge and boost to 5v makes my main power system, but I've added a switch on the battery input to the board to help conserve power.

What about the AC input?

Well unlike many on the forums and YouTube I am opting to use a DC barrel jack as the mains input from a USB to barrel cable to pass 5v 1A power to the charging unit.

2. Safe Shutdown

Now I've seen the boards on the market place, but as I am an absolute novice at soldering, I had thought I'd try to design and produce my own prototyping boards following a guy on YouTube and his schematic.

So from this I designed my board which again is using a button/switch from a old vTech InnoTab Max as I wanted to have a PSP style power switch.

Now as you can see there are 2 pins marked 20 & 21 which will connect to the GPIO pins 20 & 21. The 5V out will go to a power strip and to the pi.
