Hot Glue Gun - High or Low Temperature?

Post by SullivanBlue » Wed Sep 06, 2017 10:13 am

I'm about to begin gluing components in place and was wondering what type of hot glue gun to acquire, as I can't find any specific recommendations. What do you tend to use?

I'm using some supercheap gun from Amazon for 10€. Works perfectly. I dont think you can go too wrong here. Maybe post a link of something you're considering?
I used to be an adventurer like you, but then I took an arrow in the knee :-O

Link: Downmix your GBZs sound to mono or you're missing half the fidelity!

High! I like to get the glue into all the nooks and crannies and have yet to damage any components.

I was mostly concerned about the level of damage that could occur if I used the high temp glue gun, but most opinions seem to be that nothing involved with this project should be effected by the higher temperatures, so I'll be borrowing a high temp from someone I know :)

Just make sure you dont leave the tip of the gun pressed on anything plastic. I was gluing a button in place and the tip came in contact with the case and melted a spot.
