I've been looking through the forum for some advice / base knowledge for my first build and wondering if someone can review my build and answer a couple of my questions. Im building this first GBZ as a gameboy only version, so no other mods to button inputs.
My Build is as follows:
Raspberry Pi Zero.
JST Cable
powerboost
speaker
volume wheel
gameboy case and buttons
usb pins
power switch
cartridge
headphone jack
breakoutboard
2500mAh battery
button PCB
SD cartridge
gearbest screen
powerstrip PCB
i think the only parts im missing are a glass screen, DS lite gameboy cart. reader and the 3-d printed parts. I can print the parts at work and the ds lite parts im planning to strip from a broken ds lite.
from what i can work out, as my button PCB isnt one from Helder or the Kite board, i need to wire the audio slightly different to Wermy's custom guide posts. from looking at the wiki articles i think i need to follow this

however i believe im missing the blue PCB. what part is this? also how much harder is it to wire the headphone socket into this?
i was also planning to wire the button PCB directly to the raspberry pi GPIO pins. I read previously this might not be the best idea. do you think this will be an issue?
Am i missing anything else?
thanks for the help and i find the resources on this site phenomenal.
