Toasted display board

Post by lasercatz » Tue Mar 05, 2019 12:21 pm

Hi everyone
Noob here, I had my BW screen working and was well on my way to the next step in the build - getting confused about the audio wiring - when the power wire twisted off where I had soldered it to the regulator chip on the display driver board. I had put a glob of glue on there to keep it in place but I guess it worked free. Anyway, is there any way to salvage this board, or do I need a new one? (already ordered it just in case).
I looks like there is some copper exposed where the pad was but I'm not sure. Thanks for any tips!

I had a similar problem with my display board, I just put the wire connected to the pi near where the pad used to be and moved it around until the screen turned on. I then secured it in that position with a glob of hot glue. Not the best solution, but works. :? I think I desoldered the whole chip though.
