SAIO Battery doesn't charge
Hi everyone.
I just built my first Zero with Kites SAIO. Every rechargeable I tested doesn't charge via the micro USB Port. Does someone has an idea why it doesn't charge? Charging LED shows that it's loading.

Re: SAIO Battery doesn't charge
Do you have the battery plugged in noting the proper polarity? I believe kites boards have some text and arrows beside the JST connector for the battery.

Yes, I did it the right way. I tested two older rechargeables and thougt that they're too old, now I plugged in a new one. Testing right now.

Re: SAIO Battery doesn't charge
Do you have a multimeter to actually check the voltage of the batteries? It's possible it's an issue with the script that is monitoring the battery and that they are actually charging. If they aren't charging you'll be able to tell with a multimeter for certain .
And triple check the polarity. Some jst connectors are reversed on the batteries compared to the board. Or did you solder a connector onto the battery itself?
What batteries are you using anyway? Pics?
One last thing. What is the charging voltage of the micro usb plug you're using?

Re: SAIO Battery doesn't charge
The smaller one is actually at 3,66 V, the bigger ones are at 3,37 V and 3,9 V. I was charging with 3,15 A and with 2 A, both 5V.

And I soldered the JST by myself after "triple checking" the connection. If it would be wrong the GBZ wouldn't start without a cable.

When I connect the charging cable the status LED flashes red three or four times, the the charge LED is green.

Re: SAIO Battery doesn't charge
Yeah, a full battery would read about 4.2v so yeah all those are low for sure...hmmm...My next step would be to contact kite directly. And see if he can help since it seems like it's an issue with the onboard charging circuitry.
