Audio Issues

Hoping someone can help me out with some audio issues I'm having with my GBZ build
I just finished my GBZ and the audio is very very faint and distorted
Steps I have currently taken:
Opened alsamixer and upped the volume level to 100%
Upped the volume in emulationstation to 100%
Volume wheel is turned all the way up
Opened Retroarch menu within a game and changed the volume level to 12db
Even after taking these steps, you can barely hear the audio and is distorted
Attached is how I have my build wired and the parts I'm using
Any help in troubleshooting is much appreciated
