Retropie isn't always booting emulationstation

Lately my gbz won't boot emulationstation every time. Sometimes it will just load the command line interface and I have to hard reboot until it decides to boot completely. Sometimes it will play the splash video, sometimes not.

Few times it won't even get that far and it will say "failed" when trying to boot on a couple of items.

I'm hoping I don't have to reinstall everything and have to rescrape all my roms.

I have updated everything I could find but have not tested any hardware. Could it be a power issue?

Sounds like a filesystem failure.
Did you try with a fresh new sd card with minimal system loaded to see if it does the same ? If yes, then it's hardware problem, if no, then it's software failure !

Keep us informed

Code: Select all

dmesg
when it's failing might be your friend...
