USB sound and hub questions

Post by basztarek » Sat Oct 14, 2017 12:11 pm

Hi,
I've made some progress with my GBZ assembly, I've got all the necessary parts and started putting them together. The Pi and screen run smoothy, but I'm having issues with the hub and using multiple devices with it. To this point, I've been prototyping and an external gamepad, as well as a keyboard. Worked fine, but now I need to plug the hub and it doesn't seem to cooperate.

Secondly, how am I supposed to test the sound card if I can't use both USB devices at the same time? The card seems to work on a windows laptop.
(okay, I might get this one now - it might not work on a pi)

You may be lacking power for all the components.
If you take the power from the pi, you are very limited in current draw.
It would help to see your wirings, post a picture for more troubleshooting

Also, your hub may not be compatible - not all USB hubs work with the Pi. Try plugging in a couple of known-working devices (keyboard, mouse, etc) and see if they work.
