ODROID-XU4 inside gameboy

Post by Beautjes » Wed Jan 17, 2018 12:58 pm

Hello everyone!

i have been looking at boards to pick and came across the ODROID-XU4.
Now is it possible to fit it inside the gameboy shell?
the size : 83 x 58 x 20 mm approx.(excluding cooler)
If you take all the usb and ethernet ports of and only use the cooler i think it should fit nicely but i want your opinion on it.
Retropie is also available now on Odroid.

Friendly Regards Beautjes

That thing is a beast - I'll probably be picking one up soon. :) I think the biggest issues you are going to run into will be power (they recommend a power supply that can feed it 4A... That's a lot.), and heat (I know WillBakesPi on here has one and had to upgrade the heatsink and fan - it gets pretty toasty).

While I browsing the other day, I came across this: https://shop.pimoroni.com/products/mp26 ... ger-module not the 4A that is suggested, but over the 1A of the 1000C. That being said there are some reports of voltage drop off at over 2A.
