has anyone gotten commodore 64 emulation set up to work with their gbz? i was playing around with it a little last night using the vice emulator and couldn't get past any of the game splash screens. i tried using the menu guidance (accessed via F12 with a connected keyboard) offered from this github page - i was able to set up/down/left/right/fire through the joystick settings but couldn't get past any splash screen:
https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Se ... VIC-20-PET
that page says "space bar" starts a game, but it wasn't working for me.

so uh, turns out you just have to wait a really long time for the game start screen to display. authentic C64 emulation in that sense - must've had much more patience as a kid.

there's a warp mode you can activate in the emulator settings that's supposed to speed up load times.

Hello. I use Kites SAIO with an arduino leonardo for the control which can be flashed from the Pi0. I have configured vice to keyboard mode. Now I have single programs for the arduino for C64 games. Example specific for BubbleBobble: A = 8 (Jump/ UP), B = 0 (Fire), X = Space, Y = 1 so I can start the game and play.

Otherwise C64 is useless for a Gbz, or I haven't found another way. But I hardly play C64 anymore, there are many good console ports of C64 games for NES, sega master system.
