connect screen to raspberry pi

Post by nico69008 » Sat Feb 24, 2018 10:26 am

Hello,i use the wermy's tuto for build my gbz but i use a bw screen and not adafruit. I want to know, when i soldering wires in the board, the screen is in 5v, can i just connect my rasp pi to screen and connect my charger lipo with my battery to raspberry pi to test my screen or i must put a booster volt between the battery and screen? I ask this question because i dont use the same screen so i dont know if is enough with my method without booster. Thanks

Is your screen listed here?

https://www.sudomod.com/wiki/index.php?title=GBZ_Screen

Some screens will run fine on 5v or 3.3v. While other run off 12v and may need modification to run on 5v. (You may need a booster, or maybe not)

You can see a quick guide here how to connect a screen to a pi zero.

It will be fine. The battery will not explode.

It's not the cleanest, and it looks pretty messy on that screen board. (Did you remove the little chip?) It looks like a giant blob of solder, that should be cleaned up and then it should be fine to test. Worst that will happen is it won't turn on. Then you can troubleshoot from there

Non j'hésite à tout brancher, j'ai pas confiance avec la batterie. Je suis pas rassuré :/
