the soldering of the data wires is likely the issue. (green and white). Make sure there are no shorts between those wires, especially on the pi, beside the white wire on the pi is a ground hole, if there is a bridge there it will not work. I don't see much solder on the AIO either, make sure the solder on the wires is adequate.
I redid the solder on the connection points and it's still not working. I cleaned the points on the Pi as much as I could prior, but maybe I'm still missing something. Here's some close ups of the connections:
these look like they might be touching (red arrow). If they are, it will not work. Also, to confirm, you have the board powered by 5V. I don't see in the pictures where the powerboost is, but I assume you have 5V going to the AIO.

I resoldered it and tried new wires, nothing working. I am wondering if the pi itself is somehow at fault, so I purchased a new one to see if that's the case, as I don't know how to test for that at the moment!.
The board is powered by an Adafruit powerboost, and everything turns on just fine and dandy (which I assume the pi and screen wouldn't work if the AIO wasn't powered).
Could always chop up a micro USB. Plug it into the pi and then solder the green and white to the aio. That would eliminate soldering to the pi. And may work. The data pads may be not working.
Although I have never experienced a Pi zero with defective microusb port it's always a good idea to test it before wiring any board. Was it working before? What you can do is test it by plugging a USB keyboard but you need a microusb to normal female USB port like this:

Before doing that make sure you desolder the wires on the D+(green wire) and D-(white wire)pads on the Pi Zero.
I was able to get a USB SNES controller to work through the micro USB port, but those pads still aren't a go. This pi has been through a few trials so it's more than possible I've ruined part of it.
Thanks for the help and I'll post again when I figure out the issue!
