Raspberry pi freezes after a few minutes

So thought I best start my own thread after hijacking another :D
I have finished a new build, it has an spi screen. gpio controls and tinkerboy version 2 board. I am using the tinkerboy gpio image which i then add the spi settings too, i have used this on most of my other builds with and without spi screens and never had an issue with it!
So the console starts up and works fine but within 5 minutes completely freezes, nothing works just a frozen picture. the only option is to turn off/on. This happens everytime?
I have tried different sd cards i have gone over my wiring to check they are all soldered on fine, no shorts.
I am looking for some ideas of things to try. The obvious option to me is try another pi zero... But with all those wires soldered on, i honestly cant be arsed!

any ideas please! pic attached of my wiring.

I would put the .img at blame, could something gone a miss when enabling the SPI screen
(Maybe the speed, or any overclock)

Personally I’d start with a fresh install

Enable the SPI screen
Enable Retrogame
(just copy over the .txt after done from Tinkekboy .img)
Add what ever else needs adding....

Also I’d suggest to have a base .img as a starting block for your own builds
(You’ve used SPI screen a few times now)
As it saves time, and it something you can work from....

right started with a fresh install of retropie, started following moosepr spi guide and it freezes! can not ssh into it, just completly dead
I am going for a pi zero swap over now :-( as it no longer seems like software error?

Before you swap pi, try thicker gauge wire for the power rails see if that fixes it

Try the Pi without anything....

Just plug in a USB hub and connect to HDMI (if possible)
With a keyboard/controller

And see if it keeps freezing
(This way you can eliminate if the Pi is at fault)

Also how was the system performing before you put it into the build...
Or did you just install everything first and hoped for the best....

I swapped pis and it runs perfect..
I will plug this suspect pi in tomorrow just on its own to see how it runs, I did plug and play when I got this pi as I have had ones in the past with faulty USB on.
Thanks again for your input.

Just to update I did have a faulty pi zero w!
I have plugged it in to a tv with just a controller attached and freezes everytime!
very annoying, will need to wait another week or two and try and buy another, which is annoying with the seller restrictions!
