Help BW screen variant 13 5V conversion

Post by GiacomoB » Sat Feb 09, 2019 10:35 am

Hi guys I'm doing my first GBZ, I have a BW screen similar to the variant 12, the right chip is 90° rotated and a few components are different located.
I would like to know how to convert it to 5V.

Thanks for the support guys!

Have you tried to wire 5v to it?
That RZC2013 IC operates with a range voltage of 4.75V to 27V, so you should be fine.

Thanks correia!
I took a look on datasheet, sorry I'm not sure, I have to wire PIN2 VIN?

No, you must wire it to SW (power switching) - Pin3
But first, as a precaution, wire it normal 12v and measure the voltage across that pin 3 and confirm its 5v
If its really 5v, solder a wire from vcc to pin3

Let me rephrase it.
First wire it normally with 12v, and measure the voltage across pin3 and gnd.
Then try to use 5v directly to vcc. If it doesnt work, then mod it connecting vcc and pin3
