trouble with teensy 2.0
trouble with teensy 2.0
Hey all,
I'm having trouble with my teensy 2.0 communicating with my pi 0. If I plug my teensy 2.0 into my computer usb I have no issues. When I wire it into the pi 0 it will only work for the first 30 secs and then my controls no longer work at all. Even if I reset the teensy without turning the pi off. the only way I can get it to work is if I turn everything completely off, and then it only works for 30 secs or so. This is frustrating me to no end, I'm just trying to set up my pi and can't! haha

Re: trouble with teensy 2.0
Can you show how you’ve got everything wired up....
Without knowing/seeing it’s a bit difficult....
But it possibly could be a power issue...
(Maybe not enough power to power everything you have)
Could be a hub issue...
Who knows (without seeing what you’ve done)

My fault, I thought u loaded pictures. I know I have wires everywhere, I haven’t had a chance to clean it all up but I have it getting power and sending it’s input to the micro usb.

Re: trouble with teensy 2.0
How are you powering the whole thing.....
it looks like that the screen is powered from the Pi Zero
as well as the Teensy 2.0
providing you have a good power source, these shouldn't really be an issue....
but it is always best to to have power going to the individual items separately....
and this could be the reason the Teensy cuts out after a bit (just not getting enough power)
also some would say...
twisting the USB wires may also help
(a tip would be to use an old USB cable for these type of connections, as they twist a lot easier)
also
this whole section doesn't look that great....
one tip for an easy DIY micro usb connection would be one of these....

Re: trouble with teensy 2.0
Okay, I’ll try and connect it to my common power and ground. I took old usb cables to make that one that I’m using. I’ll have to buy a better one like you suggested.

Re: trouble with teensy 2.0
you dont really need to buy a better one....
(I just use old mobile phone charge/sync cables that I have lying around.... there free... well kind of)
just make sure the connections are solid from point A to B
this just looks bad... and could be your issue, the signal could be breaking/dropping...
Connection 1 on Micro USB (point A)
Connection 2 on Mini USB (point B)
no other connections in between
.
Re: trouble with teensy 2.0
Just checked all my connection, everything seems to be good. I relocated my powers and grounds to a common board. I still have the problem. I was about to configure my control board for the controls. But after I had finished it stopped working again. Is there a better way to wire in my controller?
Re: trouble with teensy 2.0
Sense this is my first build and really my first time messing with all this kind of stuff. Is it possible that it’s freezing up?
Re: trouble with teensy 2.0
Found my problem. Turns out that my pie 0 was fried. I think, from messing with it so much heating it up and everything, that I over heated something. Or I unsolderer something unknowingly.
