KITE Super AIO Initial boot Help

Hi,
This is my first post. I apologize if any of these issues have been asked. I searched the forums as best as I could with no luck. Thank you for any help that you can provide as I am stuck with a pretty expensive paper weight at this point.

I'm building KITE's Super AIO Version .5. I believe its the 1st board he released. I'm going step by step in the guide. I'm at the point where I have soldered the PI USB pads to the board. Along with the 6 pads labeled SD Pads in the guide. Also the 3 solder spots on the pi to the board on the front. Also I have soldered it to the 5V option for this first boot up. Attached pics below.

First question is the backboard LED supposed to be red? In the guide is shows as green.

Second question Every led shines as its supposed to except the USB Hub. Do I need to de-solder the board and make sure the usb pad isn't getting shorted out? I put Kapton tape where it was specified on the pi, and scored the pad to prevent this short.

My problem is that it will not output anything through the HDMI when I hook it up to a monitor. The SD card has been flashed and is inserted in the Pi.

Future side question. I received 4 LED's in my kit. 3 of them have two legs each. One has 3 legs. Does anybody know how this is supposed to be soldered into the board.

When booting with HDMI, did you change any config settings? Or could you instead use an image like raspbian or something? (the stock one).

CHeck that the Pi green LED flashes, this shows that it is booting.. if not, then check the SD pads (or put SD into the pi itself) and also measure the voltages on the pi gpio to make sure you have 3.3v and 5v. Also that you have continuity between GND on the Pi and GND on the SAIO

I tried putting the SD card into the actual Pi, that worked with booting up a copy of Raspian, and a stock image of retropie. It also made the USB HUB light on the back of the board light up, along with the pi green light on the actual pi.

Now if I put the SD card in the Super AIO, nothing will output out of the HDMI, the green pi light no longer comes on, and the usb hub light does not turn on. Is this normal?

I soldered the rest of the GPIO and changed it to 3.3V, and hooked up the screen. No output to the lcd screen. I'm thinking I'm going to have to de-solder this pi to troubleshoot the pads. Any other helpful advice or tips? I really don't know what to do. Thanks again!

Do not unsolder the pi.

Sounds like the SD pads need a little re-working.

With the custom SAIO image installed onto the SD card, and you put the SD into the Pi slot (not the SAIO slot), does it boot and show on screen? The screen will not work with 'stock' images.

PS your USB is working good, it's just getting the pi booting. So don't mess with the USB soldering. No pi booting == no usb LED.. but on yours when it does actually boot it works

I reloaded the custom SAIO image, and put the SD in the pi. The LCD screen displayed different test colors. Looking good to me!

So what should I try fixing? The SAIO isn't booting with the built in SD slot. It's only booting through the pi SD slot. This seems to be the last step in the guide electronically with the SAIO before mounting everything in the case.

Re-working the SD pads is the only option. However if any pads have lifted, it's impossible to rectify. So in that case the only option is to leave SD in the pi itself (nothing wrong with that to be honest)
