Powerboost 1000 issues

So I’m completing my first build and every time I connect the powerboost to a power strip I made it will not turn on. It will only turn on with a switch if there is no other power source connected besides the usb c connector to it.

Pictures?
If it is not working when connect to the power strip I assume there may be a short on your power strip. Are the 5v and ground rails touching anywhere?

There is no short I checked everything with a multimeter, the only thing I can think off is it maybe is consuming too much power. I have a 5v bw screen, usb audio, pi zero w, usb hub, Arduino pro micro, and an amp for the speaker connected to it I also included photos of the powerboost and power strip I made

The powerboost should be able to handle all of those components. The only thing I first notice is the power strip. Each of those circular pads is individual, and they are not connected to each other. So I assume you have the 5v and ground from the powerboost to one of those pads. That 5v/gnd stops there. It will not provide power to any of the other pins unless they are connected, (blob some solder to connect all the 5v pads together, and all the gnd pads together and see how it works.)
Just for clarification, all of these red wires need to be bridged together (same with the black ones) (this is assuming the perf board used is like most other perf board, and each of the circular pads is individual)

Sorry they were already bridged but on the back, I added a pic to make sure this its good, and for some reason everything will power up for a split second (like the led from the micro and usb hub then it dies down and nothing turns on)

I guess try removing components 1 at a time. And see if it powers up. Might narrow it down to the problem component.

Do you have another power boost to test to make sure it isn't the problem?

I just tested this with 3 different powerboost and all the same thing. Another thing is the powerboost won’t turn on with the battery plugged in just the usb c cord.

After having a closer look, check the polarity of the battery.
The jst connector shows opposite as what it should be. Red and black should be swapped.
Some batteries come with the jst opposite of what adafruit uses.
This would explain why it works with USB power. But not battery.

Confirm the polarity at the battery. You can desolder wires at the battery and swap if needed. Or swap the wires on the jst end.
