Post by Listis.kelly » Thu Apr 18, 2019 10:18 pm

Hi, I built a game boy zero, and have killed 4 teensy lc’s now... I wire them up program and get about an hour of play, then they die mid-game... using power boost 1000 and pretty much everything else in wermys vids... thanks for any ideas

Don't use the teensy? Have you considered wiring the controls to the gpio direct. The teensy is not necessary. Also, if you've burnt out 4 something must be going wrong I would double check all wiring.

Here is a simple image showing some gpios to use.

You can easily use other gpios. Whatever works for your build.

Here is the adafruit guide to set up reteogame so the gpios are considered keyboard strokes.

Thanks! They aren’t necessarily cheap so that will probably be my next step, everything else works fine, but was reading that voltage is about the only thing that could kill one...

Then you got to add a 10k resistor to the battery wires going to the teensy pin that is reading voltage.
