PocketPi FE audio quit working.

Pocket Pi FE hardware running Gaboze Pocaio img.
So my Pi FE has been done for a couple months now and its been fine until this past weekend.
I was playing as usual and it just died on me, I assumed the battery died. So I charged it and it wouldnt turn back on, no power was getting to the system but booted fine when power is plugged directly into the pi.
I reflowed solder to several points around the board. It finally boots after I reflowed the green Polulu board but now there is no audio whatsoever. I have replaced the amp chip but that didnt work either.
Any thoughts or suggestions?

I'd start with a fresh image and see if it makes a difference. Or you can reinstall the i2s script. Maybe that will help.

You replaced the audio chip? If so is it oriented properly? And soldered on properly? They are a bit tricky to solder on and if not oriented properly will not work at all.

To my knowledge, it is on correctly. I put a new one on the same way I did the first but I will triple check it. Can a volume wheel blow? Maybe I’ll swap that too. I have also swapped most of the caps and resistors around the audio chip. Maybe two left to do. What else can I check for?
I just don’t understand what happened. Did something short out?

I did both. No change. I do get the “lvl0 mixer elements not found” error when launching or closing a game. But that was there before, when I had audio.

You can check the volume wheel with a multimeter set to 20k or higher resistance and check the legs with the probes as you turn the wheel. There should be changes as you adjust the wheel.
I would also check the voltage trace going to the chip actually has voltage.
