Hello everyone,

I recently had some problems with my gearbest screen, where a component would overheat after 20 minutes of use, destroying the controller board. Keep in mind my GBZ worked perfectly untill the screen died.

I recieved my new screen today, hooked it up the same way I did the first, and now my pi keeps rebooting, and screen is flickering. Powerboost is flashing red (low battery), green, and blue led like a maniac. I am powering my pi from a USB, and battery is disconnected.

I disconnected the screen ribbon cable as a test, and then the pi could boot normally (I heard the signature gameboy ping after boot).

My first thought is a shortage of power, because of the screenflicker and pi reboot.
I have the powerboost connected to the pi, and a second connection from the powerboost to a 'power strip', which only feeds the screen and audio amp.

Would it make sense to rewire the power from the powerboost straight to the screen? Or should I check my cables for some sort of damage?

I reconnected the battery and everything worked fine. Seems strange to me, i would think a power cable is enough... Maybe something to do with how safe shutdown switch works, I have no clue

If anyone in the future has problems with gearbest screens: I had a component of the controller board overheating, and I replaced the controller board, and the new controller board overheated after 20 minutes aswell. I replaced it a third time and again it started heating. So I switched the piback off and replaced the screen as well, nog the board does not heat. So for me it seems there was also a problem with the screen.
Now it's just the fun task of removing all the hot glue around the screen.
