Re: 3.5 BW variant help
you'll probably need a better picture of the markings on the other chip blocked by the wires in your picture. if it doesnt run on 5v to the main power, you'll likely need to run the line to one of the legs on one of those other chips, but that'll mean trying to look up their codes and figuring out which one has a 5v that you might be able to feed into.

Re: 3.5 BW variant help
It looks like a Variant 9, I'd triple check before you do anything with/to it. Also it is a good idea to test it before you modify it.
Re: 3.5 BW variant help
Hey thanks for the help. I'm just started messing around with wiring to pin two on each side the left side chip was fuzzy and the right side chip worked clean. It felt good to get it connected. My next journey is to get a nice common controller board or AIO. Tinkerboy looks good is there any other sources available? Besides aliexpress I ordered some but it'll be like a 3 or 4 months before I see those parts.

Re: 3.5 BW variant help
tinkerboy's shipping is slow now too i think because of.. you know, but that's probably the only "aio" for a gbz around at the moment.
pocketadventures.com has good options for cheap boards and he ships very fast. nothing that hooks up as easy as tinkerboy's tho.
i would stay away from the ones on aliexpress. they aren't very good in general.
