Hi,
I always seem to have more than 1 project on the go lol.
I'm building a pi music box and I'm looking for a speaker to use with https://thepihut.com/collections/raspbe ... s/dac-phat the hole the speaker needs to fit is 7cm from screw corner to screw corner. Does anyone know a good place to buy a cheap speaker that would work with the pi dac-phat?

Hey! I'm not sure exactly what you are planning to make, but I actually have a music box sort of thing for my daughter on my to-do list. The Pi seems like sort of overkill for something like that. I was planning to use a Teensy 3.2 and this: http://www.pjrc.com/store/teensy3_audio.htmlgrenade44 wrote:Hi,

Sorry this isn't actually answering your question -- just offering some advice from when I was looking into parts for something similar-sounding.

Here's a 66mm diameter circular speaker from Digi-Key for about 5 bucks:

Not sure exactly what shape you need. Here's another with screw holes that are about 71mm apart, but the whole construction is 87mm wide:

If neither of those work, Digi-Key has a pretty good system for filtering by specific criteria.

Im going to mount a HDD, so I can get my music collection from the HDD and also have the ability to stream a web stream or Network drive via a wifi dongle.wermy wrote:Hey!
