Advice on the gameboy advance look...

Post by Lpoolm » Fri Aug 26, 2016 4:30 am

Hi so I had a spare screen and a gameboy advance, saw a few nice builds in the showoff corner so thought I would do my own build but already have a question, more cosmetic which you will see from the two pictures.
I have fitted a 3.5" screen in and if i trim most of the surround than most of the screen will be visible, its there so use it right?
Then I placed the old surround back on and thought wow, that looks good!
I think i could change the overscan settings to shrink the screen size down so it fits perfect but am i wasting the screen by doing this?
I have attached two photos obviously the one without the surround will be expanded so thats not the final look.
Maybe when i have something running through it on the screen that will sway me but at the moment i can not decide!
Any input will be great thanks

Are you talking about the like black outline/bezel covering some of you screen which is well just printed onto the screen protector?

I don't think you would find a 2.8 composite screen that would fit, I've been looking and have been unable to find one. If I was going to build this I would use a bigger screen and scale it down in the software.
