Issues with display

Post by DeltaShadow » Thu May 12, 2016 5:10 pm

Tried this display with 5v power and it worked so I spliced into original wires and hooked them up to pi and now don't get display so wondering if anyone has some suggestions.

As you can see my board is slightly different and I'm unsure on what I need to add/ remove

Hi there,

if you have those single row GPIO headers from the essentials kit,
just break off 1x2 and 1x1 of them. Solder your wires onto them and then you can easily try out without having to solder every time.

Now, try this:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B17ug8 ... sp=sharing
Stick the pin with the red wire into the slot on the upper left (picture). (it is the one above the square slot)
The pins with yellow and black into the slot with TV and the one on the right of it. White on TV and Black besides it on the right side.
If this does not work, swap the white with the yellow wire and test it again.

You have to connect the power to the RPi0, since the Pi and the Display need to have the same GND.

Have you tested the connections with a multimeter?

As well as testing with a multimeter on continuity as the poster said above, also check the solder joints to make sure that the connections are secure. :)
