im trying to make the best gaming emulator. but have little experience. im wondering if i could find a sbc not to expensive and easy to work with that is powerful enough to run the dolphin emulator. im wondering if i could run retropi on any sbc. im thinking of building one for my brother this Christmas.

Been a while, did you ever find one? The most powerful one i saw is the UPsquared. The had a kick starter that i couldn't afford at the time:

Still though, you'd probably need a gaming laptop for decent frame rate and portability with the dolphin emulator.

"I want a cheap SBC that runs the Dolphin emulator" ... well, unfortunately the market isn't quite there yet.

The only successful running of Dolphin on a SBC is using a Core m5-based Intel Compute Stick. Here's that build: http://www.sudomod.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=3331

The problem is that the Intel Core m5 compute stick that is powerful enough to do this is around $450 US. The model with the quad-core Atom processor is $130 and will technically load the emulator, but performance will be garbage: https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-i ... pute-stick
