Card slot replacement?

So, I am assuming this project uses the GameBoy's PCB with card slot to hold the cart in for the Memory Card Cartridge.
My question is, is there another option to still use a removable GB Cartridge? I plan to save the pcb and put them in a new case for my daughter... so something like a Cartridge replacement slot been looking but cant find any, also old broken gameboys are getting expensive just for a salvage part $20-30 on ebay.

Thanks
Matt

Yes there are options, but the card slot out there are design for GBA and NDSL, you need slight modification to make them work with gameboy's cartridges.
Search GBA card slot on ebay or aliexpress you can find bunch :)

Search for Super Gameboy at ebay. I didn't want to tear the Gameboy pcb apart too and bought a Super Gameboy cartridge for 3$!

Heres an article on building a Rom dumper if you scroll down to the part about the header it shows that you can just break off some plastic to make the dsi GBA header fit a dmg cartridge (or is that the other way around).

Great find! Especially for those who use replacement shells isntead of a faulty DMG-01.

If anyone is looking for one on ebay hit-japan has 3 left. I offered them $4 and they accepted so you could even try to go lower lol
