Noob needs display assistance, please!

Post by Unamazing_Rando » Sun Jun 23, 2019 4:21 pm

I have a 7" lcd display from an old cheap chinese digital photo frame, and I'd like to figure out using it with my Raspberry Pi 3.. the trouble is, I'm not sure where to start.
I found the thing for $5 at Goodwill, brought it home, opened it up to find the model number of the display itself.. (lr070ba013 in case you were wondering) and now I'm just staring at it.
the ribbon cable is shorter than the connectors on the Pi, so maybe I'd have to have some kind of adapter? I'm sure it's not just something you can "plug and play", I'm just not sure where to go for answers.
Well.. besides you lovely people, of course.
Is there a way to convert the "controller board" of the DPF?

well, either I'm garbage at research (which is highly possible) or these chips are a tightly kept Chinese govt. secret because I can't seem to find any information on the damn things other than the smaller chip (Winbond W9816g6xh-6) "might" be an SDRAM chip.. Can't say for sure, because all the sites show a multitude of model numbers that are similar but never exact.
the other one (Cheertek CT 952A) is obviously the image processor or whatever you want to call it, I can't find anything on it. one site MIGHT have info, but in order to access it I'd have to sign up to their site.. and give them my CREDIT CARD NUMBER!!!!!
that's 25lbs of "nope" in a 5lb bag!
honestly, I don't know what I'd do with the information anyway. =\
