Hello everyone!
Name is Rick. I was formally a signal support specialist (radio's, networking, and computers) in the US Army. I was discharged due to medical issues in 2014 and now I am a stay at home father. I just found out about Raspberry Pi's and having a blast tinkering with them. So far I am awaiting parts for my first GameBoy Zero build but I will be either putting a 3B+ or 3A+ in it. Unfortunately, I didn't do a lot of research before purchasing my kit and wasn't really sure of the setup I wanted. So now I am left to figure out I am also working on creating a PiHole for network traffic in my house.

Looking forward to talking to y'all and learning all I can through both successes and failures.

Hi, I feel I should introduce myself, since I already asked a question or two on this forum.

My name is Sebastien, I'm 36, and I live in the suburbs, south from Paris. I work in web development, and I've been kind of a geek most of my life.
I had the original Gameboy back when I was a kid, and still have it. It still turns on, but the screen quickly fades away, even with fully charged batteries. I'm not good with repairing things, so I figured I should do a Google search. I quickly found the word "Gameboy Zero", looked about it, found in love, and thought I should give it a try. One day I'll be able to repair my old Gameboy.
So here I am. Currently waiting for the final piece to come in the mail, and I will be able to finish my project. Can't wait !

Hello,
I'm Muddy. I am a 26 year old vet tech from New England. Some of my hobbies include cycling, animals (of all kinds), video games (mostly PC, some Switch, some retro), and crafting (cross stitching right now).
I'm currently working on a Minty Pi, which is my first project of this nature. It's been a lot of fun! Looking forward to learning more about this hobby.

Hi
I am a 37 year old from Scotland. Been into PC/Tech since i was a child building my first PC at 10yo. Got a fair few Pi projects around the flat and managed to stubble across this forum after seeing the RetroFlag GB.
Hopefully going to pick up Kite's Circuit Sword in the next buying round, but while i await that i was thinking of starting work on a GBA SP AIO board with the CM3. Not done any SMD PCBs yet so this might be a steep learning curve, but we will see how it goes.

Hey- I'm new and looking at tinkering around with electronics. I have some electrical background, but mostly I'm an artist so a lot of this will be a learning experience for me. I'm new to raspberry pi, but when I saw some of the sudomod videos I was very excited to try at least something! :)

I'm based in New Zealand, so I'm interested in finding builds available in my country that aren't expensive, but I can have fun with customizing. Here's to hoping I don't run out of steam with all the research I've been doing over the last few months into this ;) I have access to all the tools to make something, and I enjoy repairing welding guns at work, so I'm hoping this will be a fun hobby for me to get into :)

Hi. First thing I really soldered was a PSP big battery mod a few years ago. I've done a couple GBA IPS mods since, including a BoxyPixel battery add on. Tried to put a usb-c connection in a 3ds and bricked the 3ds. Did a battery and dpad mod on a RS-97. Made a gameboy macro. I've got all the stuff to make a cmoy headphone amp in an Altoids tin.

Came here to ask for help with a PSP USB-C mod and just tried to double post because I didn't read the message about a mod needing to approve posts. Sorry :)

Browsed the marketplace here. There is some inspiring work on these boards!

Hi, I'm Caleb and I am a musician from Utah. I want to get started with raspberry pi. I don't have any experience with it, but I want to learn and make things like the mintyPi and eventually make my own ideas. I would love any suggestions on what I should do.

Hi all. I'm Andy and I first got into raspberry pi's when the last 3 came out. I knew about them when they first came out, but didn't know what to do with them. I tried making the 3 into a small touchscreen computer but ended up breaking the power in micro usb. I've learned a lot about solder and desoldering since then! But as we didn't have a lot of cash (that project was like, $100 of my birthday cash), I kind of put it on the back burner. For a few years. I rediscovered my interest when I saw a few channels on retro emulator handhelds from china, and that lead to the retropi projects like minty pi and the VMU emulators. Now I'm trying to cobble together enough understanding on how all these things are made so I can hopefully make my own. As much as I'd like to have dropped $40 on the kite boards, I'm thinking I can manage with just wires and buttons, but honestly my biggest fear is missing something like a resistor or something, and messing everything up and now I'm out again. So now I just lurk here and try and parse out anything that seems useful.

My latest hobby is just getting measurements for parts and throwing them into tinker cad and designing the layout to be small but usable (thinking smaller than a GB pocket, bigger than a VMU or tinypi). I currently have a $40 wishlist on adafruit of basic parts, but with even a 1200mha battery, I'm worried it's only going to last an hour so I'm just better off emulating on my phone, yeah? I'll probably be all over these forums once I'm more ready to pull the trigger and buy things, so thanks to everyone in advance
