I read/skimmed the post. My question is, how long does it take for you to complete one? That will be the biggest factor in what you should charge. I've never done this, but I can't see me doing it any quicker than an hour for my first one or two. Maybe down to 30 mins once I do a few. That would include testing.

So if you can do 2 an hour, is 20 pounds per hour enough?

Not trying to convince you that you need to charge more. But think about when you all of a sudden have 50 to do.

I'd be interested as well 8-)

I'm not quite sure, if 10€ is enough. If I understood your plan right, you will have to
- keep track of all orders
- order the Pi's you're going to strip
- strip them
- repack them
- send them out
- give support via forums / PM if needed
- and deal with lots of (partly redundant) questions about your service in several threads and via PM

That looks like a lot of time additional to the stripping - and if you accidentally screw one or two of maybe 50 Pi's up, you lose almost 40€ (cost of Pi 3) that you won't get money for...

i take one of the first ten you do before you realize that your business model is way too nice to be sustainable.

honestly, 20€ would still be perfectly fine.

great idea though!!!

I would be very interested in ordering a pre stripped Pi3 from you. It would save me a tonne of work and your desoldering skills are super impressive. Keep up the good work.

I also would order one of those pre-stripped Pi´s.
I desoldered one on my own, and that´s pretty much work for an unskilled solderer like me (also ripped some pads off and failed to remove some gpio pins...).

The price depends on you. How long you need to do all this?
I always prefer the lowest price and would pay 10€
If you have much work with this and you would charge more, it would be fine for me.

That´s your free time, that you are spending for this community, and you are the only one who can say how much it is worth to you.

I have gone through this process last weekend and my results were pretty unimpressive.
With that in mind I would buy two stripped RPi3 for as much as 20 EUR per unit.

Greetings,
b

Just wondering isn't a new Pi 3 around €33 so you want him to sell you some thing that would make him a loss or €20 each for the service?
