Need pics when it happens!abrugsch wrote: ↑Tue Apr 04, 2017 6:12 pmExciting update! They are back in stock and I have ordered mine! (again... First batch item went missing in post)moosepr wrote: ↑Tue Apr 04, 2017 8:52 ami guess it makes it easier having all the LCD pins broken out into the headers as well as everything else. Would be easier to do with a compute module and all its gpio goodies..... this is where i end up dropping a hunk of money on a compute dev boardabrugsch wrote: ↑Tue Apr 04, 2017 8:31 amWell that's to do with just using the standard headers and case. If you were to desolder the headers it would be a bit more stealth. Well I'll find out when I eventually get mine...
Edit: here's the very long thread about it. Should be getting one soon...

Re: GBZ Price
You'll also want to factor in the time and money you put into your skills to get them to a point where you could produce something valuable. I have been a craftsman (this is my first real foray into electronics besides wiring up a transformer into a hot wire cutter) and your skills can often be worth more than the raw materials you work with. All in, it seems like the parts themselves can be bought for anywhere between $100 and $200+, but not everyone can do that high level of quality and craftsmanship you can, certainly not me
The long-standing price for many crafts is 3x the cost of materials. But if you're doing it for a hobby or the joy of it, my philosophy is to get enough out of each piece that you can feasibly keep doing it... I don't plan on selling this particular creation; I am in no way confident in my soldering skills.
