Re: [For Sale] GBZ All In One PCB (Pre Orders)

Post by SwingeyP » Fri Aug 05, 2016 11:21 am

Hi all.

I'm VERY confused.

Boards arrive today and I wanted to test them.

I have wired the green & white wire from the V1.4 board to the Pi. Is this all I need to get a few buttons working? It appears not as nothing doing. I picked up the 5v from the Pi and connected that. Still nothing. With those wires connected the KEYBOARD does not work :-(

Disconnected Green and White wires and keyboard is working fine again.

What do I need to do to get the board working?

I'm not sure if mine is flashed or not. Apparently they come pre-flashed but I have read there were problems with analog stick. I won't be using that so should I be good to go?

Lost as usual - Any help appreciated.

Regards - Paul

You need to get 5V from the powerboost, not from the pi.

Hello Helder.
Could you place a link with Ferrite Beads you recommend. There are so many types.
Thank you

The green and white wire go to the bottom of the PI USB port. PP22 is for D+ and PP23 is for D-

The ground has to be connected to all the other grounds BUT the 5V has to be from the powerboost or alternative power supply. This board has 3 different chips on it and it draws more current than the pi can supply.

I don't see the USB wires soldered to the PP22 and PP23 in the pictures.

ISP Guide will have all the Hex files for Analog stick, no analog stick and keyboard with Leonardo bootloader. Screw that SparkFun bootloader and it's double reset bullshit.

I am going to give these a shot. I figure through hole / axial will be easier to work with and test in my breadboard.

@Helder mentioned these specs for the ones in the next version of his AIO - 600ohms 100MHz 0.5A and that the frequency is the important specification, not the impedance or current.

Hmm, the bootloader is used does not require reset. It's reseting automatically as far as I remember. I'll check where I got it from.

Thanks
