Re: [For Sale] GBZ All In One PCB (Pre Orders #3) Board version 2.0
@Helder, how much space does the new board take in the case?
Do you think there would now be enough room for a larger battery and/or a pi 3?

A Pi3 will essentially never fit in the case. It's simply too broad, and especially with the onboard USB and NIC ports, just wouldn't be slim enough anyway with everything else. As far as the board's size, that was the approximation from the first post.SkybotLivendale wrote:@Helder, how much space does the new board take in the case?

Additionally, Helder indicated in a previous response:
There are many threads dedicated to the battery topic. In fact, because this board is longer and now approaches the space used by the battery, it may be even smaller space left, though it's likely you can get at least a 2500mAh battery in there. Do some measurements, then do some research online. Almost all batteries sold online will list their dimensions.Helder wrote:What does that have to do with the AIO? there are many threads about batteries that should have the info you need.livinin82 wrote:Is there any way to put a larger battery or two batteries?

huh, weird that there is tons of pi 2 and 3 builds out there then, no?ncc74656m wrote:

My question was less about the battery specifically and more about how much space in the shell does this all in one PCB clear up.ncc74656m wrote:A Pi3 will essentially never fit in the case. Right now, it looks like this board takes up most of one half of the shell which I would think would leave a fair amount of space in the other half for maybe a battery beyond 2500 mAh or a trimmed down pi 2/3. However I'm not 100% sure and am trying to plan out all my parts to buy before I do so.

Misspoke. Should read "never fit unmodified."CaptainDurden wrote: huh, weird that there is tons of pi 2 and 3 builds out there then, no?
You're right, it'll fit. But lots of things will fit in places they never were meant to if you basically completely gut them.
But thanks, smartass.

wow, what an entirely unpleasant person you are. never seen someone act like this on here before. but please go ahead, keep telling people off, spread false information and then act out when you get called out on it. this forum needs some unpleasantness, just so we don't forget what the rest of the net is like.ncc74656m wrote:Misspoke. Let's all settle down and keep the peace. I updated the first post photo with what I have designed, I'm also doing a rush order so I can get a small amount 10 or so by early next week for testing so I can be sure USB is working 100% so that this version works for everyone so there might be a few more days delay for the order to go through but I'll do rush processing to make up for it.

Yes the power strip is how the board is powered, it has filtering and a fuse so the board isn't killed if there is a rush of current. The other pads do not have the fuse and therefore act as if you connected them to the regular power strip or DIY Power Strip.musty_666 wrote:@Helder The power strip included also gives energy to the board?
Basically the board takes up this space in the case in case people are wondering.
