Kite Circuit Sword boot loop
Kite Circuit Sword boot loop
So I've got my new KCS, which is amazing so far, but I can't seem to get it up and running..I've followed Kite's guide and have tried both SAIO images but they both get to the RetroPie splash page for a second, then the screen does this weird white fade, reboots, and enters a boot loop where it does the same fade midway through the boot. I've double checked the hardware and it looks like I have everything as it should, so my only guess would be software, but I have no idea where to start..

I assume you're using the right image? You mentioned SAIO which isn't correct you should be using the CSO image: https://github.com/kiteretro/Circuit-Sw ... /tag/1.1.1
Also, do you have a battery connected? If not then that is your issue

Mine does the same - using the most recent (correct) image, I had assumed its because I haven't got a battery plugged in (and therefore the usb wasn't able to fully power the device causing it to restart). Waiting on a battery to arrive to prove my theory.

Yep, this will 99% be it. If you have another cable or another PSU to try, that may get around it but a battery will solve itdrlbradley wrote: ↑Fri Feb 23, 2018 1:53 amMine does the same - using the most recent (correct) image, I had assumed its because I haven't got a battery plugged in (and therefore the usb wasn't able to fully power the device causing it to restart). Re: Kite Circuit Sword boot loop
Ok thanks Kite , I hope the OPs issue has the same easy to fix root cause.
Re: Kite Circuit Sword boot loop
I have a feeling that is the issue! Well, both of those things technically. I was using the SAIO images AND USB power..guess my testing will have to wait until my battery arrives
That said, thank you very much for the help, I'll report back in a few weeks!

Re: Kite Circuit Sword boot loop
confirmed that the boot loop behaviour went away for me with the addition of a battery.
