My Kite Circuit Sword does not have audio playing out of the speaker. I checked through the head phones and it works fine but when i unplug the head phones i get no sound. I did solder in a digital volume button/rocker to the unpopulated pads. i havent had the chance to update the software on that yet. would soldering in the digital volume rocker cause audio not to come out of the speaker? i am planning to update the software tomorrow to see if that will fix it but any ideas as to why audio only works with headphones but not through the speaker?
btw i also made sure that the amp was turned on and volume was up.
thanks for any input you guys might have. i tried reading as much as i could and did not find my answer.
everything else seems to work great though. i just need to get audio working and i;ll be good to go.

Re: Audio not working
Got a picture of how you have the speaker connected? Have you got a spare speaker you can try soldering to the pads?
Do you have a multimeter? With the speaker not connected but the CSO ON, can you measure VOLTAGE with one probe on GND and the other on the speaker + and speaker - solder pins? If the circuit is working properly you should see 1.6v on both speaker + and speaker - compared to GND (speaker - is NOT GND by the way)

Re: Audio not working
Forgot to mention, I'll probably have to remove a bunch of hot glue out of the way as that was how i kept the speaker in place. I wonder if i went overboard on the hot glue and messed something up.

Re: Audio not working
Anything is possible, test a new speaker without cutting up your current one (you can test without needing to glue anything) just in case it isn't something to do with that

Re: Audio not working
Man i feel like a total idiot. So in the excitement of putting everything together i forgot to plug in the speaker. Once i opened up the gameboy to run your tests i saw that i forgot to plug in the jst plug. Once i plugged that in, all was good with the Circuit Sword.

Thanks for making such a great product! First time building anything like this and the only thing that went wrong was i forgot to plug in the jst plug. Now back to playing with my new found toy.
