White haze over entire display

After having no issues with the display, this morning when I booted up my Circuit Sword, I noticed that there was a white haze over the whole display. This is not a brightness issue (I can still control it). It's also not the screensaver - I can turn it on and off and it dims properly. Instead, this is a uniform "filter" over the whole display and it starts the moment the GB starts up, even in the console, before it hits Emulation Station. I've tried reseating both the backboard and display ribbon cables to no avail. Has anyone else seen this issue?

It kind of looks like an interlacing issue?
