Kite's Circuit sword USB-C plug

Post by Nicode70 » Fri Apr 13, 2018 6:21 am

Hi guys,

this is a long shot. Would it be possible to replace the USB-C plug on kite CSO with a female lightning plug.

I'm an apple guy and i have loads of lighting cables. Also i don't like having to cary around lots of different cables.

I've seen that there are female lightning connectors on ali. also i've found this diagram online. and from the pictures there are soldering points for "power in" on kite's CSO. This USB-C port is just for charging, right?

I'm not very good at electronics but my guess is that if i connect the lightning pad 1 to CSO power in - and the lightning pad 4 to CSO power in + , it should do the trick.

Am i mistaken?

thank you for your inputs.

I don't know how the USB-C port is installed on the CSO, BUT something to consider is that Apple in their infinite wisdom may have made that ID pin (8) something that the charger uses before it'll deliver any power to the device. like if it's a low or high rate charging device etc. so it *Probably* isn't a drop in replacement (even if you can make it fit...)

i guess what i'm trying to say is: RESEARCH is required
