I don't see that LED flash at all. Is that connected to the serial line for the atmel processor? Yes update fails, can't find serial /dev
Also I assume you mean for the start button that the contact was shorted together. If so it is not nor is any other button. Is there a schematic somewhere?

Ok, so have you tried connecting it to your PC? When you do so does the USBHUB led turn on? (it's kind of in the middle where the CM3 is, along its edge near the USB C connector), and did you try flashing via pc before (not saying to do it, but asking if it had been done).
If you have used arduinos before and know about flashing them, or flashing bootloaders, there are some solder wires you can do to reprogram the arduino, but it would probably be a lot quicker and easier to send me an email and return the board only and i'll do a full debug and replace it
