LCD blinking
LCD blinking
I soldered my Circuit Sword Lite and have an issue. Display blinks and I can hear tick sound on every blink. Frequency of blinking is increasing with time. Touching BL_ON area stops blinking for some seconds, the area is very hot. Any suggestions?

Re: LCD blinking
Hi.
I just mounted my CW V1.2, and I have the same problem.
My screen won't stop flashing on battery power.
If I plug in the power cord, this blink disappears, and the screen loses color and brightness.
Any suggestions?

Re: LCD blinking
Can you measure the battery voltage?

Re: LCD blinking
Are you able with a multimeter to measure the battery voltage? Need to see if the battery is healthy! Also, could you show a picture of how you have hooked it up?

Re: LCD blinking
Hello Kite.
I've been doing tests to try to find out what is wrong with my Circuit Sword.
I have tried two different batteries, obtaining the same result (I have put some videos later).
The truth is that I don't know what happened and I'm a little desperate. The truth is that I have invested a lot of money in this machine and now I find this problem.
I hope it can be solved in some way.
I send you the videos, so you can see it for yourself.
Thank you very much Kite, greetings.

Re: LCD blinking
Ok cool that really helped me to understand what the problem looks like!
Ok, can you open it up and removing the CM3 module ONLY, literally leave everything else in place, just remove the CM3.. if you power it on from BATTERY ONLY like this, does the screen flash as before? (it may only show grey/dark background, but it's the backlight that is 'flashing' so you should be able to see if it is doing it or not)?
While you have got it like that, where the CM3 goes, underneath it are a bunch of chips and an LED called "BL_OK" .. with it on as before, if you carefully put your finger over the components (i mean REALLY be careful, because one of them might be REALLY hot, like not normal ouch burning finger hot, so i mean it to be careful and to touch only VERY briefly and quickly, i wouldn't want you to hurt yourself.. but it is a very telling sign if one of the chips is HOT) and check if any are way hotter than the others?
Lastly, you can with the USB cable attached (so no flickering on screen) try updating the microcontroller with these steps.. you don't need to use WIFI, you can use a USB keyboard and just press F4 to get to the console, and begin typing the commands: https://github.com/kiteretro/Circuit-Sw ... controller

Re: LCD blinking
I just tried turning it on with the battery and the CM3 board removed.
Unfortunately, the screen keeps blinking (it appears gray, blinking ...)
And indeed, under the CM3, there is a chip (or several, I don't know) in the "L2" area that is really hot...

Re: LCD blinking
I just reprogrammed the microcontroller, and sadly, it has not fixed my problem.
Any other idea?
Could it be a problem with the screen strip? I should change the screen, since I have it very deteriorated (is it possible?).
Even so, I don't know if that would be the problem, since when connecting the charging cable, the flickering disappears ...
