Kite circuit sword lite No boot problem.

Hi, I just finished my kite circuit sword lite today and am having problems.

From what I can tell it is a Kernel Panic error. When in tester mode it looked fine until about 10 round then it would freeze. I thought this was just it shutting off after it was done testing. But when I booted into "normal" mode it would freeze up when I turn it on. But only sometimes. I have tried it with a new SD card. Same thing. I have also tried formatting the SD card (over wright mode) and flashing a new copy of kites software. Same problem. It seams to work more when it is plugged in.

I have gotten to play one game of Tetris it so far. From what I found it is a SD card problem. But other people say down-clocking the CPU fixes it. People say this worked because it was reducing the power draw. I talked to a friend of mine about it and he said right off that it looked like it was freeing because it was not getting enough power.

Hi, it is doing this because it thinks the power switch is 'off' and so is shutting itself down. However the power management chip can tell that the switch is in fact "ON" meaning it won't kill the power to the pi (because the user has demanded it to be ON still). The same effect can be seen if (on a working system) you press the menu->shutdown option.. after complete it'll look like yours!

So, the power SWITCH itself and also the connection to the CSLite is good, however the Pi isn't picking up the right information.. meaning the soldering from the CS to the Pi needs a look at!

The pin is the brighter green one here: (note that picture is from the PI SIDE of the board, so you'll be seeing the Pi and the Raspberry Logo when you look at it. Just remember that when you flip the board over to check the other side that it'll be the mirror of this image)

I just resoldered the pin and it works. I have turned it on and off 15 times with no problems whatsoever.

Nevermind. I went to install Kodi and now it is haveing the same problem.

What I'm looking for in the syslog.txt are the following lines where the CS detects it should shutdown and then does so:

I think so. I use a good amount of flux. I also reformatted and re-flashed the image. Same. Some times I boot in but about two mins later it shuts down. Here are photos of it after the re-solder.

also I think it could be a part that is pressing on the power button on the PCB. The 15 tests were when it was not screwed together. It stoped working when i screwed it together. Could this be it?

I thought that filling the part that may have been pressing the power button on the PCB fixed it because it booted up good. But after about 4 mins it did the shutdown thing again.
