Bluetooth with newest CS | Further questions

Hi,
I wanted to ask how it looks like with Bluetooth and the latest version of the Circuit Sword boards?

Do you have to make some settings or can't you get bluetooth running at all?


- Also is it possible, to add a clock to the left upper corner?

- If the battery goes towards 0%, is it possible to program it to count down a countdown and then safely shut down the CM3 and not just disconnect the power directly to the battery?

Bluetooth hardware has been fixed so that it can work, i just haven't applied any software to make it work.. there is another thread on how to get it to work (where you can skip the hardware mods completely). In future i'll add it! Could probably do with a github issue to track it..

The trouble is that if the CS shuts itself down, it will still remain "ON" because the main power switch is still in the ON position. This is probably fine if you have it in your hand but if you just assume it'll do the right thing and leave it, it won't! Also, if it shuts itself down with the switch still ON, it actually ends up looking like it kernel paniced, because the last page of logs after succesful shutdown spits out a big stack trace as it 'dies' (you can see this by press START -> SHUTDOWN and watching it with the switch still ON).

This is why i've always left it up to the user.. the 'hard power off' thing is because the battery voltage has got so low that it can't supply enough power to keep it running.. 0% is at about 3.2V, which is quite literally an empty battery and you really should turn it off!

Is the USB-C port a full USB port or only intended for charging?
I.e. could I theoretically connect a USB-C to HDMI cable so that it works or can't it?

Charging only (the DIP switches can actually change it to be linked to the CM3 or to the USB HUB for debug purposes, but it's impossible to use it for anything else other than that).
