fan connection?

Post by joeleaux » Mon Aug 02, 2021 7:10 pm

OK, where do i hook up the fan? I see TWO tiny (TINY) fan pads at the very top of the board: however there are THREE wires coming off the fan? What do i do?

Thanks so very much!

Correct, you don't need to do anything with the 3rd wire ;). Normally a fan has 2 or 3 or 4 wires. In your case, you have 3 wires:
A 3-wire fan has power, ground, and a tachometric (“tach”) output, which provides a signal with frequency proportional to speed.
But The Circuit-Sword is sending via voltage DC (I believe) a different current to change the speed of the fan. Which means you dont need the 3rd wire. P.S. first test it with the 2 cables before removing the 3rd wire (just in case).
