[Idea] handheld to console and back??

after posting a couple of rtfm questions i have another one....
Is there anyway this build could have a console mode? eg when the HDMI is connected it defaults to a usb controller and switches off the screen?
like i've said before... i'm a complete noob, and unashamedly so!!! everyone's got to start somewhere..
if you can help that'd be great....i just think it'd be cool
