Preparations

Can I use a standard raspberry pi 3 right now to load roms/themes/splashscreen/etc. while I wait for the current batch of circuit swords to arrive? That way, when it arrives, all I have to do is finish modifications to the gameboy case and insert my already loaded sd card.

I wasn't sure if the extra config files in Kite's image would work on a raspberry pi that isn't plugged into the board. And then, if it did work, I wasn't sure if removing the sd card from that pi and putting it into the board would translate over.

How is everyone else "preparing" for when their Circuit Sword arrives?

Use the image on my github, but comment out the code in the config.txt (after burning image) so that you instead enable HDMI. See here: https://github.com/kiteretro/Super-AIO/ ... DPI-Switch (yes it's for the older board, but still applies here)

So I've edited the config.txt and retropie is showing up on my screen. However, now, whenever I try to select anything in the Retropie "system", the screen freezes and nothing happens.

If I go to raspi-config, freeze.
If I go to wifi, freeze.
show ip, freeze.

I also noticed that the pi did not re-size the partition and reboot. It just loads to emulation station and then asks to configure the controller.

Is there a step I'm missing or something else I should comment out?

Thanks for any help.

Comment out everything under the 'Generic Settings' header in the config.txt file, possibly re-burn and try again..

Yep, no change.

I guess I can just wait until the board gets here. Was hoping to get a head start on the software bits but I can wait.

I just hope I don't run into this problem when it gets here.

Thanks for the help, though.
