Kite's CS does not fit into case

Post by smhrambo » Tue Jun 05, 2018 9:29 am

hi,

today a got my Kite CS, but it does not fit into the case of my DMG-01, because of a leftover part sticking out from the PCB.
It is located on the top edge of the pcb and could be seperated via a breake line direct above the status LEDs.
It has two holes and is labeled with "SIDE MOUNTED LEDS".
I can't find any inforamtion of it's purpose on kite's website.

They are intended for soldering leds that will light the fron shell and not the top right angle of the shell...

Are you talking about the break way tabs? Please cut them off with a pair of side cutters. If you are unclear, please post a photo.

it looks like those are meant to be take of. use side cutters or pliers. The small LED one with 4 holes looks to be easily removable. The top one should also be removable as well.

Also, i have never built a circuit sword, so this is speculation. but it seems that they should be taken off.

So I emailed kite and he told me that the part is still left over from the production and can be removed.
