Circuit Sword Problem

Hi, got my Circuit Sword through a few days ago, followed all the instructions and got it working. Put the Kapton tape on today ready for getting it into a case, booted it up and something's wrong. Attached a quick youtube vid showing the problem, and just for completion, a pic of it up and running earlier this week.

So just saw another post ‘Gameboy will not boot’, and this matches my situation exactly (as far as I can tell anyway). So have taken a few pics of the SD slot, as I’m guessing this might be the problem?

Visually it looks ok, could you try the following:

1. With the SD in the slot, try pinching the metal slot between finger and thumb in an attempt to push the pins into better contact with the board (so a thumb on top of the metal thing with the sd, and the finger on the other side of the board so that pressure is on the SD card itself). Don't pinch too hard.. try turning it on the same as you did and see what what happens..

2. Do you have a spare SD card? If so, can you put the provided image on it as you did originally (to rule out your other SD being corrupt/dead)

3. Remove the CM3 module, wipe the contacts, and insert carefully making sure to apply pressure into the back of the socket

Tried pinching/applying some light pressure etc to the SD slot. No change.

Tried a bunch of different SD cards, no joy. Tried re-downloading the img, put it on a different SD cards, none of them making a difference. Even tried the basic retropie image, nothing.

Took out the CM3 module, gave the connectors a clean, still no change.

Any other ideas?

Those are all the obvious ones as annoying as it sounds it is probably best to send me back the CM3 + main board and I can debug, replace/fix for you, and put the answer up here to hopefully help others debug! So the CM3 isn't booting at all, likely it's an SD thing, and you've proven that your card(s) are all fine. I'll likely need to inspect the SD slot even closer (i have a microscope for this) and perhaps any traces around it.. if those are fine, then it's going to be a bit more debug into the power situation!

Maybe before you shoot me an email power it on and measure the voltages at the test points on the back of the board (1V8 (1.8v), 3V3 (3.3v), 5V (5.0v), VCC(3.7-5.0v))

Hello. i have the same problem, and i have the good voltage in back card. Do you know how we can resolve that ? Thanks anyway for your work, I believe in you to fix it ^^

If you plug the SD card into your PC and it appears as a small (e.g. 80mb) drive with a load of small text files in, and it doesn't boot as pictured here, then send me an email because I'll need to replace your board (and also debug your existing one! I haven't seen any customers boards yet but hopefully it'll end up being something simple!).

Ok yep so your SD is good, but the board has a problem.. can you please send me an email with your address and I'll sort out the replacement for you
