Function menu flashing?

Hi,
I've just booted up my replacement circ sword for first time (after no boot issue on previous)
I get the function menu continuously flashing. The button doesn't appear to be stuck and I've got the back of it insulated to prevent shorting.

The 2nd issue I'm having is that the start button won't register. Select works perfectly fine and I can seem to work out the problem. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance

If you remove the back board ribbon cable (so the back half of shell is not connected at all!) and instead HOLD the little power button down (that is next to the battery connector) does it still show this behaviour? (PS you'll have to HOLD this button for the CS to remain powered, the button next to it is the mode button).

Hi kite,
I disconnected the back board and powered up holding the power button as you suggested.
The function menu still appears without pushing the function button.
See video.
Can you please help me?

Wow it's going pretty nuts.. can you try updating the Arduino code by following this guide:
https://github.com/kiteretro/Circuit-Sw ... spberry-pi
If you can't connect to wifi because of the menu thing, you can instead plug in a USB keyboard and do:
1. Press "F4"
2. Run "sudo service cs-hud stop"
And you should be back to normal but without the menu thing
OR, you technically don't need wifi at all... you can follow those steps but ignore step #4

Thanks, I'll try it when I get home and let you know how it goes.

Hi kite.
I followed your instructions and flashed the Arduino.
I rebooted and it is still the same.

Also my start button doesn't seem to register?
Select works completely fine though... anyway to test this?

Something is seriously unhappy! Could you try the following last ditch attempts before I call it in and replace it (again!

)
1. Image a new SD with a fresh version of the image from github.
2. Collect the log files and post here (or email me, or on pastebin website):
https://github.com/kiteretro/Circuit-Sw ... e-log-file
The start button is a bit of a strange one.. maybe its related! On the actual button pad itself, on the PCB, can you inspect the start button? Are there any stray bits of solder on it that are bridging and of the gaps?

Sorry kite I haven't been able to get back to this, between the work and the family.
Hopefully the next couple of days. I'll keep you posted

No problem, if you can get some pics of both side of the board you have soldered, ideally close up enough with strong light so it's easy to see what's going on.
All the inputs are driven from those series of 3x identical chips with lots of legs on each, a picture of that area would also be useful in case there is a hardware issue there.
