No CSL audio

Hello,
I can’t get audio to work. I searched the forum and verified all of the potential issues I could find.

- I am certain that I used the correct CSL image.
- I confirmed that test mode shows the audio OK message (however there was no test sound,
even with add-on board disconnected).
- I’ve tried both speaker and headphones.

Is there anything else I should be trying?

Otherwise, everything went together really smoothly. Thanks in advance!

Eric

Not sure what (if anything) I did, but audio now works. However, it is fairly faint through the speaker. Sounds much better with headphones. I used retropie settings to increase audio to 100%, but it is still very low.

Is there a way to increase it?

I assume you have rotated the volume wheel to no effect? With the back board cable removed does it change anything or still the same?

Problem solved.

Adding a note here in case anyone else is confused by this. I’m pretty sure my earlier GBZ made a sound during the boot sequence. There was no sound this time around. Not in test mode, not during boot, and not while navigating the UI even though I had enabled that option. All of this made me think there was a problem with the audio, so I messed with the various settings for a while trying to get it to work. Eventually, I installed a ROM and realized the sound was on, but it was very faint. At that point, I reset the audio to default config (eliminating any changes made while troubleshooting), and now everything works as expected.

So don’t be surprised if there is no sound until after you load a ROM.

Otherwise, this has been an entirely trouble free build. Well done, Kite!
