[Solved] Circuit Gem - phantom key presses in RetroPi menus

Anyone else seeing this issue?
When I'm scrolling through a list of a console's games in the RetroPi menus, my fat thumbs sometimes will make a diagonal movement instead of up or down. The results in the Retropi menu switching to a different console and continually pressing up or down such that the selection scrolls through the list of games until it reaches the top or bottom of the list. I'm not seeing any issues while playing games, it's just an annoyance while making a game selection in RetroPi. Any configuration change recommendations I should make?

I've seen this and it's a gui quirk depending on when the button was pressed. It seems easier with the gem dpad.. if you haven't already, either adding or removing that plastic 'nub' that sits inside the dpad MAY help. You might also want to clean the button PCB contact with some rubbing alcohol or similar to get it nice and clean.. really i think it's because it's small.. when it does the scrolling thing, pressing up or down will stop it

I believe you can turn this off under the Emulation Station menu:

1. Open the menu, choose 'UI Settings'
2. Toggle 'Quick System Select' to 'OFF'

That should prevent it switching from within the games list for a system.

Perfect, that fixed the issue completely, thank you @djbriane!

Thanks @Kite for your suggestions also. I forgot to mention that I already had done a complete PCB wipe down with alcohol because of a prior post you made in a different thread.
