Is there a recommend point on the CS (CM3) to add a charging coil or should I go direct to the battery leads?

As already answered by Kite:
On the mainboard, next to the USB-C charging port are two solder points: labled by +/-

This is where the QI charger output leads are goint to be soldered to.

Never to the battery directly since there is no charging control / protection in this case!
